Review: I just saw the LFF. It's a great piece of film. It is clear that his central theme of slavery and the corruption of human nature can be so easy to get, but it has many other small moments that trigger thoughts about larger issues - the role of Religion as an example. It is hard, and in some ways terrible to behold, but it's the story of Solomon Northup said truthfully. There's nothing saccharine, like Steve McQueen presents, and that's what makes it so fantastic. You cry, because that's what the witness is really terrible, not because they Violins and directors were attracts your heart strings. All the acting is top notch, as well as evaluating Hans Zimmer. It really should be important to watch all old enough to understand it. |
