Review: Having the opportunity to see its world premiere in Toronto this evening, where we were joined not only stars, but Patti Lomax, the real wife of Eric Lomax, the autobiography, the film is based. The story is unique and interesting, and said, with a series of scans of Eric Lomax, our actor (Firth), the experience of WW2. Since the film is set in a pretty grim location (camps and apartments in green), they are not the most visually exciting to watch and edit / pacing leaves a bit to be desired - at least in some places we find today Eric Lomax (Firth) is suddenly transported back in POW camps in Asia with nothing to guide us not as if he went there (to blow a plane wouldve done) or at least one case, the hallucinations. However, a good story and acting Firth supports Nicole Kidman as his wife - but the real show-stealers are young Jeremy Irvine Hiroyuki Sanada and Lomax as Nagase, Japanese translator and Lomax tormentor. |
