| Review: Feelings before seeing other aircraft was not sure how it's going to end up kind of feeling. On the one hand, there was hope that Disney (or Disney Toon Studios to be exact) will return to form continued trend started in 2009s Princess and the Frog, which later saw movies even better Tangled (their best film of The Hunchback of Notre Dame) and wreck it Ralph, Winnie the Pooh, also very sweet. There was also a sense of anxiety, as well as reading the plot line gives the feeling predictable and unoriginal. Regardless of any initial feelings, the only way to judge Planes had to watch it. Unfortunately, the fleet was very disappointing to the viewer and perhaps their weakest since Chicken Little. And this comes from someone who hopefully knows how to judge family films, you guys this is a family film for kids film.Planes has things that make them good. Animation is the best aspect from a considerable distance, is great, the animation is not the best theres ever been, but it looks nice all the same. It manages to be both colorful and detailed with textured backgrounds and characters well designed. The camera angles, and are a source of wonder, are incorporated well and really give the feeling that you are traveling in the air with nature. The music is catchy, with lots of well-chosen songs, and serves the film very well, mariachi version of the love machine is very sweet and fun. Aviation least shows that the authors have done their research. The voice acting too is commendable in all, with Dane Cook expressing particular enthusiasm. John Cleese, Julia Louis-Dreyfuss and Val Kilmer are also welcome, although Planes better.Unfortunately is also one of those films where it starts slowly and never really drops off, sorry I could not resist. The story just does not have any spark, storytelling is predictable and calm hiking and lazy. People say it is basically air touching Cars of Top Gun, Jay Jay the jet and the ugly duckling story and is true, it is very derivative film making bigger problem that has nothing to surprise or contrast. The script lacks freshness, charm and humor, instead of annoying her full time down to talk, tired jokes and one-liners (as crazy as Firefox) and no emotional impact. The language air-force/aviation can go over kids heads as well. The romance between dust and Ishani comes across as clich? which is well developed, almost as an afterthought. The characters are annoyingly shallow, dust is not so bad, but the rest are not very interesting, and their development is thin, masters back story feels particularly forced and shoe horn. El Chupacabra has its moments, but is a stereotypical character (something that people can take a dislike to) and many of his jokes are lame. In fact, there are many cultural stereotypes, and many of them touching insensitive. Villain Ripslinger is also stereotypically designed and is perhaps one of the blandest Disney villains, with some of the most annoying and useless goons any animated film in recent history. Action looks good in animation, but fails to generate any excitement, too much of it suffers from predictability and walked conclusion throughout.In too serious, far from real scary movie or wreck her plan made to be, but one where lazy disappointment Its easy to see what has been criticized for aircraft. Then again, this is personal opinion and take with a pinch of salt, instead of being rejected for having a different opinion than yours. 4/10 Bethany Cox |
