Review: As a fan of Korean films Chan-Wook Park, in particular heavy strains thirsty vampire story 2009s, I was excited to see his first sentences of English. Stoker, the first film made in America NVP, will certainly not disappoint. This is due largely to the director to stay with what you know to tell a story that has all the dark aspects of their Korean activities. However, Stoker also less extreme one might expect from Chan-Wook Park, so many moments of violence and depravity that would be much more on top of the softened. Stoker focuses on the titular family in India, Evelyn and Richard Stoker (Mia Wasikowska, Nicole Kidman, and Dermot Mulroney). When Richard was killed in a mysterious car accident, his daughter India eccentric mass begins to further distance himself from her estranged mother, Evelyn. After burying their Patriarch, the family receives a visit from Uncle Charlie Indies. Charlie seems a little out there, and you begin to form a vague relationship with India suggests that Uncle Charlie might want something more than a couple. Develop a spending echaríaa film, but needless to say, it's an interesting premise. The story unfolds slowly, with the dramatic events before the second half of the film, which contains much more Wizz-bang sombríoy carefully executed. It's not so bad, largely because the characters are so fascinating from the start that accompanies them as they go about their daily lives Daya is a pleasure. Even when the film seems to rest on their laurels from the start, great performances throughout (particularly Wasikowskas singing performance so far and India). Except for a few odd holes, the scenario remains strong worldwide, offering a lot of great courtesy dialogue Wentworth Miller (you read that right, such as Resident Evil:. Afterlife Quie, N saw that coming?). Of course, the strongest link in the chain of Chan-wook Park. From the first scene of fragmented images from the computer-generated transitions that occur throughout the film, your brand is clearly stated in the film. Stoker never ugly, and every shot with a distinctive style exudes Chan-wook. My personal favorite is the one of the first scenes in the basement, which includes swinging lamp (I think one day in the West). The only thing missing is feeling compared with other efforts NVP is a series of scenes neasea indusing-whose sole purpose is to surprise the audience. Although Stoker has some harsh moments (I think, shower), for the most part is very limited compared with other works wooks Chan. It's no good until the last act, when the nature of history demands a more powerful and surprising ending that was given. Thus, despite not actually stuck landing, Stoker effectively creepy, well-acted, and a good start to what I hope a long career of English Chan-wook Park. |
